Flagg Races 2010

Run under HRA rules, this year will see a major change to the format of the first race - the High Peak Hunt Members' Race - this race will now start in open country between the villages of Pomery and Flagg. The entrants will head out across natural hunting country taking their own line, jumping the renowned limestone stone walls in order to take the most direct, or fastest route to the racecourse proper and the finish. This year, there will be just three marker flags along the way so navigation could be as important a factor as raw speed, agility and courage. Starting at 1pm, this unique race reflects the early days of horse racing when riders rode from one point to another with no defined course.

The remaining 6 races are again all run under strict HRA rules over a defined course of 9 steeple chase fences which have to be a minimum of 4’3” high.
